Hi all.  We are beginning our planning for our three week jaunt this summer.  We are in San Jose, CA and plan to travel to the following points: Crater Lake (OR), Portland (OR), Boise (ID), Yellowstone and Grand Tetons, Salt Lake (UT).  We are traveling with what will be our DS's (5 and 2 yo).  If everyone still seems to be sane, we may add on Zion and Bryce.  I have seen plenty of threads on Yellowstone and Grand Tetons, so I'll just read those for info/advice.  Curious if anybody has CG recommendations for any of the other areas.  I'd also love some input on attractions or areas of interest along the way.  The more kid friendly, the better.  As usual, thanks in advance for your input.  We are first timers here (haven't even bought a PUP yet), so we may be biting off more than we can chew.  Yes, we will do a few trial runs before launching into this trip.

since you going up thru Oregon, i'd stop at Silver Falls SP. Hyperterex has a thread going about it. spectacular park not far off I5 and an Oregon secret spot. you might want to drive along the Columbia River on your way to Boise. lots of nice parks along there, i'm told.

at Yellowstone, stay a minimum of 7 nites and i'd recommend staying at Madison for the west side, Canyon for the north and east side.

Colter Bay Campground, not their RV park, is also a very nice place with Jackson Lake a short walk.

Silver Falls is filling up fast, dont  wait to make your reservation if you want to stay there.

Last year we went to Howard Prairie 20 miles east of Ashland. Great place to camp, very nice lake. Kids enjoyed everyday catching a bunch of blue glls right off the shore. No reservations required and none needed sun-thurs but got full by friday through the weekend.

Sounds like a great trip, take plenty of pics to share. Dont forget to take pics of your camp site so we all can see what its like at the places you stayed.
