My favorite campground is always the one I haven't been to. I just love exploring new places!
But...if I had to name one campground, I would say Petersburg Campground outside of Augusta, GA. Large partially shaded lots on a gorgeous not-so-busy-as-Atlanta-lakes lake give us a chance to get away from everything. The campground is never full, at least when we've been there it hasn't been.
Another close favorite is Vogel State Park in N. GA. Great shaded lots with a lake, beach, paddle boats, putt putt, trails, and beautiful scenery! The mountains and fall foliage make this campground very hard to reserve.
