Hey, take a hike!

During today's lunch hour internet scavaging, Wal-mart has A LOT of camping gear on sale.  Plus, ALL the camping gear ships free to your home.  Might be a good time to pick up that screen room, new air mattress or bag chair you've been wanting.

Also, the back-to-school dorm stuff is on sale including 1.7 cu fridges for $58 with free shipping to your local store.  In case you've been holding off, may be the time to get the fridge you want for your PUP.

How much did you pay on Amazon...is $35.54 on Wal-mart.com.  If it's a lot, is it too late to cancel the order from Amazon??  Hey, a dolla' is a dolla'.

Don't forget the Bargain/Clearance area at Target Stores.  My wife and I stop and check there every time we stop.

Our cooler shipped yesterday for the same price.  We were surprised to see it that cheap.

Did a search on the Wally World website for "Coleman".  Besides the free shipping, everything seems to be normal price, except for a very few "rollbacks".

If you're in the market for their heavy cast iron cookware, or larger items, you might save on shipping.  However, the local sporting goods stores in my area, Sports Chalet, Sports Authority, and Big5 stores, (and even Target and KMart), are selling their Coleman stuff for less than the Walmart website prices, in many cases.

Even Camping World's non-member pricing is better than the Walmart website, in some cases!

I picked up a Coleman Xtreme last year and absolutely love it.  That said, I am still thinking about picking up a dorm fridge (so thanks for the Walmart sale tip).  I usually take two coolers, one for meats and things that might go bad (the Coleman) and a lesser cooler for drinks.  This way the kids aren't opening the meats cooler a hundred times a day looking for juiceboxes.

We generally camp a few weekends over the summer and take one week-long trip.  For the weeklong trip we go to a Destination (Hershey last summer, DC this) and stay at a campground with electricity, etc.  We are out and about doing stuff all day and nice to crash with some creature comforts at night.

the two cooler method is a good one but the problem is it sucks up a lot of ice keeping drinks in the "lesser cooler."   On weeklong trips it is tough to actually cool-down new drinks (Capri Suns are usually sold warm).  So I was thinking for those week-long outings a small fridge for drinks would be a good complement to the good cooler.

This is our second Xtreme.  We like the first one.  I really like the two-way handles Coleman designed for these two coolers.  We also have two Igloo MaxColds and the handles do get in the way sometimes.  We didn't need another cooler as much as we needed a cooler of a different size than what we had.

I'm still surprised to see them at around $35 for a 70-quart.

We have a dorm fridge but usually don't mess with it.  I think we've used it twice in the past eight years for camping.  Although I think we might like it somewhat better if we added a fan inside to circulate the air.  As it is, the stuff in the bottom freezes unless we turn it down so low it can't safely keep food cold.

All right, Rae! If the Coleman Xtreme 70-quart is good enough for you, it's good enough for me! Just ordered it as a retirement present (as of July 28) with birthday gift money. PLUS, a great sale price and FREE SHIPPING from Amazon.

Thanks for the tip.
